When the summer heat faded and August rolled in, a new 10U roster took the field under the guidance of Coach George Avila, joined by Coach Ralph Dominguez, Coach Marvin, and Coach Dee Dee. No one knew exactly what to expect — new faces, new chemistry, new challenges — but something was different about this group from day one.
They showed up hungry. They showed up determined. They showed up ready to become something special.
What unfolded over the next three months wasn’t just a baseball season. It became a journey — one defined by growth, grit, and an unforgettable international adventure that changed the trajectory of this team.

A SEASON BUILT ON BELIEF
Teams don’t transform overnight. But somehow, this one almost did.
From August to November, the 10U Phenoms evolved at a pace that surprised even the coaches. There was a spark — a mix of natural talent, fearless personalities, and a coaching staff that refused to settle for anything short of each player’s potential.
They practiced in the heat, under the lights, through mistakes, and through breakthroughs. With every rep, the boys sharpened not just their mechanics, but their confidence. Players who were quiet found their voice. Players who doubted themselves swung bigger. Players who once hesitated started making plays without thinking twice.
Every kid grew — not just as an athlete, but as a teammate.
And by the time November arrived, they were no longer just a young squad learning the game. They were a unit. A family. A team worthy of a big stage.
DESTINATION: LOS MOCHIS, SINALOA
Where baseball is culture, passion, and tradition

Then came the invitation that would define their season — the chance to travel to Los Mochis, Sinaloa, and compete in the Segunda Copa MVP Athletes, an international youth tournament known for talent, intensity, and the kind of baseball environment that stays in your blood forever.
For many of our kids, this was their first time representing the program outside the country. For all of them, it was their first time playing in a place where baseball echoes through the entire city.
Los Mochis welcomed them with open arms, loud stadiums, cheering families, new friendships, and fields built for battles. The moment the team stepped onto Mexican soil, the energy shifted — they knew this was different.
This was bigger than a tournament. This was an experience.
THEIR RESPONSE? DOMINANCE. FOUR STRAIGHT WINS. AN UNDEFEATED RUN.
Facing strong local teams, passionate players, and an atmosphere that felt like playoffs from first pitch to last, the 10U Phenoms did what few teams can do in unfamiliar territory:
They adapted. They competed. And they won.Again. And again. And again.
Four games. Four victories. Undefeated.
They adjusted to smaller, lighter baseballs. They adjusted to shorter fields. They adjusted to a different style of play. They adjusted to the language barrier with smiles, handshakes, and laughter.
Nothing shook them. Nothing intimidated them.
Every inning revealed another layer of their heart and composure.Every win added weight to their belief that they belonged on that stage.
Their undefeated run earned them an automatic place in the championship game, a moment few teams ever reach — especially in their first international appearance.
THE FINAL BATTLE — AND THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CHAPTER

The championship was everything youth baseball should be: loud, emotional, gritty, and competitive. The boys left everything on the field and came home with 2nd place, but what they gained was so much more:
New friendships.New experiences.New confidence.New hunger.
They learned that baseball connects people, even when they don’t share the same language. They learned that competing abroad requires flexibility, courage, and teamwork. They learned that they can stand toe-to-toe with strong international programs — and win.
This was a trip that bonded them forever. A trip that made boys walk back into the U.S. as a tighter, more confident, more mature team.

A THANK YOU THAT MATTERS
A huge thank you goes to Alex and the entire MVP Athletes organization in Los Mochis for the invitation, hospitality, and world-class baseball experience. The tournament was competitive, beautifully run, and full of heart — everything youth baseball should be.
Your kindness, organization, and effort created memories that will live with our kids for the rest of their lives.
2026: THE YEAR OF THE PHENOMS
If this fall season was the spark…2026 is going to be the fire.
This group has tasted big moments. They’ve played in another country. They’ve battled under pressure. They’ve grown from individual players into a united force.
And now they’re hungry for more.
The plan?Return to Mexico — but this time, with the entire program, so every player in every division can experience the culture, the competition, and the magic that these boys lived this year.

TO OUR 10U TEAM: YOU DID MORE THAN PLAY BASEBALL. YOU MADE HISTORY.
You proved what can happen when heart meets opportunity. You showed courage, humility, passion, and pride. You honored your coaches, your families, and your program.
This season wasn’t just about wins.It was about the rise of a group of kids who believed in each other — and became something unforgettable.
Fall 2025 belongs to you.2026 is waiting. And the Phenoms are just getting started.
